winter room
you set blazes to the mountains

they were not good enough for you

i cradled the summer moon in the

mason jars of my winter room

i love forever when i love

forever i love

on & on because if nothing is ever lasting i

will make the best of it

i leave droplets of dew on my shoulders

to see the reflections of you- i am

perfection, & the Earth is a desert

i stumble through the surface on

purpose- i'm trying to try.

steadfast & soft as moths wings

you sing to the sky

you can be as big as you want to be

you can stand tall, & i'll believe

we're not specks

star dwellerhow stained are my seasons

with forgotten intentions, i must have

loved you senseless

now i'm guarding my heart.

my ribs are a courtyard; you

cannot be shy, darling

you tell me, you're a

star

dweller

you fall into yourself

the space within you is beautiful & broken

i see it fully because it's what

made me feel help

less the first time i saw you

a word for your days growing old;

don't try to take control, little darling

i'm the youngest of souls

willow-sighswhen i was little my hair was to my waist

i wore sun dresses with little buttons, & tiny printed flowers

i breathed everything in slowly, i moved like a doe

into the to & fro of

autumn, winter;

spring centered my

nymph-eyes & willow-sighs

i touched tiny pebbles & the bark on trees

played by lakes & grabbed at the sea

& they tell me it's all history, but i can't bear to

breathe that statement - i can't let them ensnare

who i am. i saw it all, & it's there - still restless

like the earth moving the sand

they tell me to get over it, but i can't

i'm in love with my childhood like a long-lost lover

one cries themselves to sleep over

the riverbed
you settled down in the country with

poetry pouring down your chest

love me to death, love me endless. i

can hold your breath if that's what you need,

i'll be the voice that pleas

like it did two years ago

i shake like a leaf while you find relief

in bottles on stacks of shelves & books

you spell my name out in the sand, i feel you

everywhere i look. i can't say please, i don't

say sorry - i'm never sorry, i'm never pleased

i want to stay down on my knees, & let you

take my pain from me

sleepy whispering

in the knots of my hair, & the nooks of your room

i lost myself in the belly of june, & woke to

you

you,

you imagin

perthcatch your breath

in the skeletons of leaves

it varies - this land

these trees - it carries

the wind of my afterthoughts on the

mountain tops

i stole it from the cedars

they came to me when i was young

when dreaming was too keen of believing,

& forgetting was too fond of feeling.

i sent it off, & found it reeling

itself back in

i stood in the lakes

you stared at my quak

ing heart; tore apart your

self-made prison.

undone & dealing a thousand

sentiments on the tip of your tongue

i spilled wisdom

but saw my reflection

in the vapor, & this was when

i became older - & later on

told myself how to look beyond an hour

i've bee

pour a little salt, we were never herealmond in

your wooden lungs

pursed your lips to the

sound of our love- i woke

the new birds & stole

the cusp

of rain on little

window panes

i'll be patient, i'll be kind

i'm too tired to be fine

i am yours, but you're not mine

i'm so close to taking time to myself, but my hands are turned upward

like petals choosing to

give the sun another chance

rose inside your cedar trees

climbed your weighted, burly leaves

leave your lonesome will to me

i'd pry the sea dust from the strands

of southern eyes & shaking knees

woods and coffeelimb-like

your

hazel spine broken in bits

with the fern & the twigs

take two aspirins

six strings

synapses & wings

ease into summer, starling

raised up in the winter, darling

curled up on the couch

with the coffee making ripples

in your eyes & stealing

looks from a ghost in

the upstairs

murmurs from the ailurophile

laughing to the sound of you

waking to the full moon

plea to the skinny boy

in the southern room

the autumn left in the leaves

still tangled in his hair

i must have seen you there

still was the storm

in the black-haired girl's stomach

she rose up from the dark of his

arms & found herself sprinkled with

dan

just to my own

your virtues, & your vices are not

good enough for me

i've put the sea behind me

i'm going to throw you off my shoulders

paint the mountains - i won't

carry your memory with me

you'll be nonexistent - the wind will kiss this

little mouth of mine

i'll run before you can ever hope to catch me

snow-birdprettiest bird in town

felt his feathers wain, & the rivers drown

baby doll, i'm loving you until

the sun & sky won't spin again - he's

beautiful in his snow-bird skin

the cannibaleyes bright for wildflowers
I swear they leaned toward her as she passed
with her boyish gait, a confident stride
she caught me with the absence of her smile
and she thought I was a wildfire
set to burn her worries away
but I was tame
tame tame tame
and she was burning up
she laughed when she realized my still temperament
bewildering the sound, a pretty Sunday laugh
light of heart, balancing honesty's edge
hiding between this duality of personality
her fabricated safe haven
but in the night she asked me to keep her
and for a long time I held her soft body, full of insecurity
to mine securely but her anxiety was an earthquake
I could feel inside her, I could feel the tectonic
plates shifting in her mind and once she'd chiseled her nails
to bare skin she moved on to mine
she held my hands like a wounded bird in hers and she
whispered to them "when you fly, I will too"
yet all the while she kept clipping their wings
with her ner

haikui was running from
the sea. now, i want it to
crash all over me

oh. hi.why don't you spin around, little tree-heart

smile at the stars & scamper to northern grounds

love yourself like lamp lights licking lonesome

blades of grass creating fiery fields

i can hear your voice i can hear your voice i can hear

you now, i can hear you now, they're all gone

imaginaryoh darling, we will never be the same. in seven months i lost my jar of butterflies & glitter dust. now, i am rinsed in acid rain. in the wild i wore my antlered frame with pride beside the minnow lakes; i forced my legs to run with the wolves, but god, did i miscalculate.
we are never coming back, so let's put our formers to rest. i unveiled my baby flesh with liquor & sex sweat. i hear someone sing to me, & fall to me knees. beeswax & honey lifting me through the trees. my skin will never taste like saltwater. you'll never press your ear to me & hear the sea. i was your enigma, & you were my favorite mystery. but we are never returning, so

there was oak in his hair, & salt-water in the way he sings
the noon sipped the june from the cage of spring
